    Description

    Space Whale, Pioneer PX-3, the wonderful way to travel through the void of outer space. Space Whale not only carries Astronauts, but also shoots sparks, flap his gills and opens his big mouth as he waddles forward. The beautifully detailed Space Whale has a on-off switch on the top of his head, catfish moustache feelers, and rolling eyes
    The Space Whale Ship is one of the most desired tin wind-up toys ever to be manufactured. Measuring 9" long and 8" wide from whisker to whisker, the toy moves along swaying up and down as if he were in water. Then all of a sudden the big mouth opens wide and then closes as quickly as it opened. Sparks are supposed to be visible from behind his head and seen through the red translucent panel. I had trouble seeing any sparks. The wind-up mechanism is controlled by the antenna.
